13. Finished at last!

It has been a lot of work getting to the end and there are many sections that I will go back over and review and explore in greater detail. My two favourites were iGoogle page and Second Life. There have been many frustrations along the way and there are still things that I never seem able to do but I will continue to work through these issues and bounce off my friend Melinda. I will never have the time to keep up with everything – I haven’t even had time to go back and check my Facebook page since I asked people to be my friends! I would have appreciated a weekly email like we got in the first couple of weeks covering some of the common problems participants were experiencing. I hope even though my last two posts were after the finishing date that they can be tracked. Thankyou for the opportunity to learn such a vast amount of new virtual information.

11. Second Life

I want to work at Macquarie University and play with Second Life. I will check out their courses. I think it may be my love of fantasy fiction but this is definately me! I will spend time in this  world. Loved  the get a 1st  life page and will share this with my friends. I can see the potential for this platform in education and would love to work on setting up a secondary school in Second Life type program. Any other takers?

9. Rollyo + wikis

I have created my account and made a searchroll called Pam’s Egypt Page with favourite websites for my year 7 Humanities class. I found it easy to create the searchroll but want to post to my ays4aardvark page. I’ve seen this function somewhere. looks like an email is needed. looked at some of the wiki sites. This was not new for me. Great potential for this and  look forward to developing this further.

8. delicious & library 2.0

A quick look at this tool but would need to spend more time working on it. Will debrief at school tomorrow. However I did find the discussion about Library 2.0 very interesting. It amazes me that people can be such lateral thinkers. Just when you think you are keeping up with all the changes in your life up pops something like this. I will definately be exlporing this in greater detail. I need to check out some blogs here!

7. Googling away

On my igoogle page I’ve added a to do list, a link to my facebook messages, sticky notes and a link to ABC breaking news. This is the easiest task that I’ve done as well as the most useful. I think this may change my life and I will definately use this all the time. I haven’t checked yet that I can access this at school but will do so tomorrow.

6. Google

Well, there are certainly a great deal of useful tools on this page and I have added numerous accounts. Not only do I now have google docs but igoogle yahoo library thing flickr facebook (including friends that I don’t have time to write to or answer). The problem is that every time I need to do something to my blog it doesn’t work because I don’t understand what they want. This is the most frustrating pd I have ever done. I thought I knew ICT but can now understand others problems. Thanks for this new insight.

5. MySpace

My favourite background for MySpace page goes to Upland Public Library. They have a page of eggs! Not sure if it is significant but catchy look. Great way to get kids connecting about books, music etc. Also a great way to publish pictures of special events. I now have a Facebook page with no friends!
